We believe that football is about more than just winning games - it's about developing character, fostering teamwork, and instilling a lifelong love of the sport. With a talented coaching staff and a roster of dedicated players, we strive to achieve excellence in every aspect of the game. Whether you're a current student-athlete, a prospective recruit, or a fan of high school football, we invite you to explore our website and learn more about what makes Hillgrove football a truly special program.

It is our sincere desire, as a community, to continue to build upon the incredible legacy and traditions here at Hillgrove while empowering the success of our student-athletes and coaches. We know in our Hawk hearts that our program has tremendous potential – and we know it will take ALL OF US to realize that potential.

Coach DeShon's Huddle

Remember hearing about the $25 player participation fee? Well, the Hillgrove Athletic Committee has used these funds to purchase branded windscreens to encompass all the chain link fence in the football stadium along with the bleachers. The adjacent long fence line to the grass practice field will also be covered. For those who traveled to River Ridge last season it will look identical except in black coloring. This along with the addition of play clocks will give our facility a much-needed face lift!

FEET. To boost our “Family” look and feel, since the start of Second Semester we have handed out a NIKE hoodie, Black Long Sleeve as a part of the Breakfast Club. If your child has not received have them see me. We will be handing out a gray short sleeve very soon.

In prior years, we have used the Spring popcorn fundraiser to generate funds for FCA Camp. This season all popcorn funds are going directly to Friday Travel Gear and spirit wear for the kids. WE hope to raise the same amount and deck the kids with gear.

With this, we are hosting two padded camps this Summer that will feature 6 teams. One in both June and July!

HILLGROVE GRIDIRON CLUB

HGIC BOARD

The Hillgrove Grid Iron Club's purpose is to promote parent/student involvement: coordinate all supporting activities, including feeder programs; encourage attendance at football-related functions; provide those services, facilities, and equipment which the school does not provide; ensure recognition for the football program and its athletes and increase the enjoyment of the fans at all football activities at Hillgrove High School

Being a member of the HGIC means you are a committed member of the Hawk family. You, the parents or guardians of our student-athletes who become members, ultimately determine the priorities for the program. Members decide how we budget and spend our income. You help us ensure we are always acting following our vision of "enabling the success of our student-athletes and coaches." A single general membership entitles the individual or family to one vote on those matters which members shall be called upon to vote, to hold office, and to all other rights and responsibilities of membership in the HGIC. HGIC meetings are open to all members.

Please see the Handbook for additional details.

Video Board News

  • March 10, 2023

GREAT NEWS. Mrs. Stewart and Mr. Brown have GREEN LIGHTED the process of having a new VIDEOBOARD installed and operational by our home opener in August. They have asked us, the incredible football community, to get us across the goal line with the final $40,000…and we need that by SPRING BREAK in order to break ground on time. So how can you help? We are looking for families and companies who want to donate, to be the “foundation” of this incredible new addition to our stadium.

Here is what we’ve come up with so far:

  • HS and MS football athletes: with a donation of $1000 your athlete will be exempted from the 2023 registration fee
  • For all athletes (youth, MS, HS, to include football and cheer): with a donation of $500 your child will be highlighted in a 30-second slot on opening day (live interview or slide show of pictures)
  • For families interested in a larger donation, any donation over $1000 will earn a “Foundation” brick that will be laid at the base of the new videoboard with the name of your choosing engraved
  • For companies who might be interested in a donation in exchange for advertising via semi-permanent static or live action “commer cials”, please contact Jim McKinley. All options are on the table!
  • This is your chance, folks. Not only will you see your kids on the videoboard, you will be a part of the team that brings fresh life to our stadium and to our program overall. Let’s go Hawks!

All donors will receive a tax write off form from the Hillgrove Grid Iron Club.

On Mondays and Fridays, starting next week, we will publish where we stand. Be a part of the team and be recognized!

Comments or Questions, or to submit a donation, please contact Jim McKinley at 678 446 8346 or jimmckinley06@gmail.com

Paintball Challenge - a Success!

  • March 11, 2023

The annual paintball game at Arkenstone between the high school football players was a thrilling and fun bonding experience for everyone involved. The game was led by two of our rising seniors (Teddy and Christian) as a way to build camaraderie and teamwork amongst the players. Each team had their own strategy and game plan, with the goal of outsmarting and outshooting their opponents.

As soon as the opening whistle sounded, the players sprinted towards their positions, dodging and weaving through obstacles as they tried to take out their opponents. The sound of paintballs whizzing through the air and the adrenaline pumping through their veins made for an exciting and intense atmosphere. Despite the competitive nature of the game, everyone had a great time and laughed as they shared stories and strategized during breaks. The paintball game was a memorable experience that brought the football team closer together and strengthened their bond on and off the field.
